Profile

Amaris is a reggae revival cover band based in west London's Paddington district. The band is made up of a group of lifelong friends who hail back to the era of reggae revival classics and share a passion for music production and live performances.

The name "Amaris" means "promised by God" in Hebrew, and the band sees music as a powerful way to bring healing to the soul.

Amaris unique sound draws inspiration from early reggae artist such as John Holt, Dennis Brown, Marcia Griffiths, Phyllis Dillon, Stevie Wonder and Frankie Beverly and Maze just to name a few. Their high-energy performances and engaging stage presence have earned them a loyal following since their launch in 2022.

The band's focus on raising awareness for prostate cancer and other illnesses that affect the Caribbean & African community sets them apart from other reggae bands. Along with their performances, Amaris invites guest speakers from various charities and organisations to highlight the cause and encourage others to get involved.

Amaris includes lead vocalist J Cass (Jeff Cassius), drummer Jah Son (Jason), keyboards/backing vocals (DaPaul), lead guitarist JazzMan 4 Christ (Floyd Parris), backing vocalist (Sophia Toomey) aka Sophia J, rhythm guitarist Rebel Union (Shawn Thomas) and bass guitarist (Pete Al) aka Sharky P.
