When performing with a DJ, the DJ will usually handle sound, and the saxophonist connects via wireless microphone.

Space & power: Allow a small performance area (around 2m x 2m) with access to at least one standard power socket for amplification.

Repertoire: You can usually request a mix of jazz standards, soul, pop, house, R&B and lounge music. Most musicians will learn one or two special songs (for example a first dance) with advance notice.

Do I need to provide any equipment?

Usually not. For small to medium events, the saxophonist can often bring their own PA. For large stages or complex setups, your venue or AV supplier may provide sound.

Can I choose the music?

To a large extent. You can request favourite genres and a few specific tracks. The musician will fill the rest of the set with songs that suit your brief and keep the flow of the event.
