Cygnet Quartet is a jazz ensemble that’s anything but typical. We’ve built a reputation for delivering captivating performances with a repertoire that spans a wide range of styles. Our group consists of Diane Arthurs, on tenor and baritone saxophones, flute, and vocals, alongside Emma Breese on piano, Graham Niblett on bass, and Paul Arthurs on drums. Together, we create a sound that blends soothing swing ballads, lively classics from the Great American Songbook, and a touch of bebop, while paying tribute to the groove-driven styles of artists like Grover Washington and Cannonball Adderley.

But it doesn’t stop there. Our Latin repertoire is equally diverse, with everything from Bossa Nova to Mambo, all infused with exceptional musicianship and energy. Whether we’re channelling the sophistication of Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, the vibrant Township Jive of Abdullah Ibrahim, or the infectious rhythms of Antonio Carlos Jobim, we weave together jazz, swing, blues, and world rhythms for a truly unforgettable musical experience.
