Who is:
DJ Maverick - The Greatest Showman?
Well at one point just over 20 years ago, I was in a boy band for a brief time.
It didn’t quite work out how we expected and I chose to stop performing.
Although I am back in a Boyband now, with a UK and European tour this next couple of years, I offer what I enjoy most, which is as “The Greatest Showman”.

As well as Singing and DJing I offer additional products like selfie pods, fake flame effect machines, Bubble, Smoke and Snow machines, light up LED dance floors. I can offer costumes for you to surprise and nominate your guests on the night to wear, one minute you’ve picked 5 tough guys from your group, the next they reappear with me singing Wannabe and they are all dressed in Spice Girl dresses, with wigs, lipstick and dance moves to the music, and of course, screams from the audience.
Then it’s the ladies turn, we’ve now got 5 of the Village people in front of us dancing to YMCA, with full on moustaches, the sight of the Indian, cowboy, sailor, policeman and navy jumping up and down is a laugh out loud moment that your audience will never forget.

I can MC your wedding or event, offer brunches, Karaoke, god help our ears haha, photographers, videographers, studios and I work with the community and individuals by providing singing and stage presence lessons.

I have a large Theatre / Festival / Corporate stage size, “Greatest Showman Circus” if you really want blow away your guests.
With 4 large elaborately painted wooden cages, flames, backdrops, more lighting and effects, animatronic animals, Carousel horse, signage, additional PA systems etc, it truly leaves guests with their mouths wide open and a magical twinkle in their eye.

I offer Event Planning and have some unique venues and props you won’t find anywhere else. There’s a good chance it’ll be more cost effective than other event planners too, as we can do a bundle deal.

As a Talent Agent, I have access to some well known celebrity singers and non singers for guest appearances.

I am available 24/7 to discuss any ideas you may have.

This is my full-time job.
I say job, but I LOVE and excel at what I do.

Based near Heathrow, SW London but can travel to anywhere around the globe if needed, and often at short notice.

I have created my own show, and as the name suggests, it is based on the Hollywood production of that incredible, award winning musical film, starring Hugh Jackman and Zak Efron, “The Greatest Showman”.

I Sing and DJ, I mingle with the crowd, get everyone singing into the microphone with me.
I have them on their feet and up dancing the night away.
What I do is unlike anything you’ve ever had before.
I’m standing on chairs, having one side sing against the other.
Offering limbo dancing and teaching others to some old school boyband moves.
As a DJ, I have a unique skill to read the room and react accordingly. I’m not afraid to change a song 1 minute in if it’s not landing with the crowd. This is their night and why waste a moment with songs they don’t want to hear?

I have hosted large scale events, weddings, corporate parties, festivals, bars, clubs, football clubs, open days, carnivals, street festivals, kid's parties, care homes you name it, both at home, and abroad.

With various costume changes throughout the night reflecting the artists that I sing (George Michael, Queen, ABBA, Madness, Boybands, Aerosmith and some others I’ll keep as a surprise for you for now), this really is a show like no other!

I have a fantastic vocal range, excelling in falsetto.
Every song I sing, of which I have hundreds to choose from, is a big number that the audience will love and can get behind.
I can also work with you on the song choices and incorporate your playlists.

What inspires you in your work?
I love to see the audience come alive. I have always been in love with musicals and live music, and I’ve been fortunate to attend many events over the years.
I am very much a visual person, so my shows are based around wonder, intrigue, excitement, and togetherness, all of which I provide via visual and musical choices.

What about your clients, what kind of music do you sing and play?
I can sing a few hundred different songs, and I am frequently told, that although I’m an excellent singer, I am equally as good a DJ.
That means I can work with my clients to tailor their event to make it a success.
I am always keen to give those who attend the gigs, no matter how big or how small, one of the best nights of their life.

Where did the idea come about?
When I was a young boy in Scotland, New Years Eve or “Hogmanay” as we call it, was always such a wonderful and unique experience to any other night in the year, and I try to bring that influence and feeling into all of my shows.

What kind of music does The Greatest Showman, AKA Maverick, enjoy himself?
I love music from all genres from the 60s up to the present. But nothing beats the classics.
So I sing songs from all the eras, but my personal preference are 90’s Dance music, various Boybands such as Backstreet Boys, Take That, A-HA, Duran Duran, Ska band Madness and my favourite song, “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics.
But any songs that make you smile or encourage you to singalong or dance.

In summary:
I have costume changes, incredible lights, the best sound equipment, energy, and spontaneity in abundance. My vocals are on point, and I go out into the audience and get them to sing into the microphone with me.
So whether I’m wearing a spacesuit singing Aerosmith’s “I don’t want to miss a thing” from the film Armageddon, wearing tight red shorts holding a life preserver singing “I’ll be ready” from the Baywatch soundtrack, or indeed flicking my light up whip as The Greatest Showman, this truly will be an event you and your guests will never forget

Life outside of The Greatest Showman:
I am a former chairman of the animal welfare charity, the RSPCA.
An award-winning Actor, Voice Over Artist, Director, Producer and Presenter.
I am in post-production of a self-made documentary on Homelessness at Christmas and Executive Producer on a documentary for hit 80’s television show AIRWOLF.
A sports ambassador for Aberdeen football club.
I set up a Mental Health campaign during and beyond COVID, whereby I interview sports personalities live on the Internet in front of a live audience.
I used to work in oil and gas, and I was based in Iraq for six years and the Falkland’s for a year. It was when I was in Iraq that I happen to be able to save 150 people from a fire and overnight I became a “National Hero”. I am a bit embarrassed to say those words out loud, but it is what the press referred to at the time.
Real heroes are Doctors, Nurses, Police, Fire, the Armed Forces, I just happened to be there at the time and did what I thought was right.
