Pete Lukas Quartet
Profile
Pete Lukas is a highly accomplished jazz saxophonist known for his rich tone, inventive phrasing, and deep-rooted passion for the music. With a career spanning over two decades, Pete has performed at some of the most respected venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, including Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club, the Barbican, and the North Sea Jazz Festival.
A versatile and expressive player, Pete is equally at home in straight-ahead jazz settings and the vibrant rhythms of Latin jazz. His projects include a hard-swinging duo and quartet, as well as a dynamic five-piece Latin jazz ensemble celebrating the legacy of artists like Dizzy Gillespie, Eddie Palmieri, Joe Henderson, and Ronnie Cuber—alongside Pete’s own original compositions.
Having toured the UK with legendary baritone saxophonist Gary Smulyan, Pete brings authenticity, energy, and a deep respect for the jazz tradition to every performance. Whether lighting up the bandstand with fiery solos or drawing audiences in with lyrical ballads, Pete Lukas is a compelling voice in contemporary jazz.
