Rachel Hayward has been entertaining audiences throughout the UK and Europe on the steel drums for over forty years. She presents a wide repertoire of calypso, reggae, ska and standard pop hits which she gives her own special steel pan twist as she works with her own self-produced backings which give the effect of a full steel band sound but with the flexibility and price point of a solo performer. Over the decades she has had many repeat bookings everywhere from theme parks, country fairs and agricultural shows, weddings, funerals and christenings, birthday parties, barbecues and many corporate events, garden centres and shopping malls, Gatwick Airport and Eurotunnel, even pirate ships and ferries! Her credentials include being UK Champion Soloist (1989) and a featured artist on Disney's The Little Mermaid (2023), she was also an Olympic Opening Ceremony performer (2012), and has played and arranged music for numerous steel bands in both the UK and in Trinidad (birthplace of the steel band).
