The Groove Primitive is a group of experienced musicians playing a well curated selection of soul, funk, Motown, and pop tunes with the emphasis on danceability. If there is one thing that is important to us it is the joy of playing a great groove and seeing people get up and dance!

We came together through our mutual love for 60s and 70s dance music and between us we have extensive touring, performing and recording experience.

Our core line-up is a 5 piece band comprising vocals, guitar, saxophone, bass, and drums, but for an additional fee we can engage more members as required.

We can also provide live background music e.g. while guests arrive; again for an additional fee depending on the number of musicians and the required playing time.

We can play recorded music before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves and can include any specific client requests notified to us in advance.
