The Groovy Funky Things bring you the hottest disco, soul, and funk anthems from the golden age of transatlantic music. The GFTs consists of five of the West Midlands’ most seasoned musicians, who just love to see a full dance floor and a dance crazy crowd. The bulk of our repertoire includes floor filler hits from 70s and 80s giants like Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, Gloria Gaynor, Chic, Earth Wind & Fire, Sister Sledge, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and many more. However, we also include more contemporary dance floor grooves from Jamiroquai, Sophie Elis Bextor, Kylie, Justin Timberlake, and Daft Punk.

Were completely self contained, carrying PA and lighting equipment for indoor events up to around 250 people or 300 square metres in size. But, if your event is bigger, just let us know and we’ll arrange for additional equipment for your event. In addition to our live performance, we are happy to provide recorded music before and after our show, and also between sets. This ensures that your function continues to groove, even when the band isn’t playing. If you want to have input into this, just email us a list of your favourite numbers before your event.

Getting married? We have songs in our repertoire that are suitable for a first dance, however, just let us know if there’s a particularly special song that you’d like us to play and we’ll create a custom arrangement just for you.
