Umay is a soprano specialising in musical theatre and opera. She completed her MMus Music at Royal Holloway and has been performing for over 10 years. Her past performances include Edinburgh Fringe, Wimbledon International Play Festival and London’s Phoenix Arts Club. Umay’s background as a theatre actress brings depth to her musical performances and her dedication to her vocal craft has earned her the nickname of ‘Andover’s voice of an angel’.
Umay released her solo album ‘Ink On Paper’ in 2026. She is the composer and writer of ‘Beowulf the Musical’ a two act musical which premiered in 2024 with Umay playing the lead role of Freawaru. She reprised this role in the original cast album. She is currently writing her next musical titled ‘Harp and Sword’.
