We are the Zukira Duo - a unique cello and guitar duo able to perform music from a variety of genres including Classical, Pop, Rock, R&B, Soul, Afrobeats and Jazz. We are flexible & versatile and regularly perform at a wide range of occasions and events.

Our Ugandan heritage is a big part of our story. We are both half-Ugandan, met in Uganda in the music scene there and have played together ever since. Abbie is half English, was raised in the UK and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Gavie is half-Ukrainian, was raised and trained in Uganda. His playing is strongly influenced by African contemporary/jazz music.

With Zukira, our vision has been to combine the classical sonorous sound of the cello with African contemporary guitar to create an incredible and captivating musical fusion!
